Privacy notice

What we do with the details you give us, and who we pass them to. Last updated Thu 20th Aug 2026.

Who we are

Reads Commercial Finance is a trading style of Reads Advice Partners Limited, company number 12124192, registered at 7 Bell Yard, London, WC2A 2JR. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at enquiries@readscommercialfinance.co.uk.

What we collect

Only what you type into the enquiry form: your name, your business name, your email address, your phone number, what you are looking to fund, the approximate amount, and anything you write in the message box. We also record the page you submitted from, the date and time, and the version of the consent wording you agreed to.

We do not run analytics on this site, we do not use tracking pixels, and we do not buy or append data about you from anywhere else.

Why we have it, and on what basis

We use it for one purpose: to introduce you to a commercial finance broker who can discuss your funding requirements with you, and to talk to you about that introduction.

Our lawful basis for passing your details to a broker is your consent, given by ticking the box on the enquiry form. The box is never pre-ticked and the form will not submit without it. Our lawful basis for replying to you about your own enquiry is our legitimate interest in responding to someone who has contacted us.

Who we share it with

We share your enquiry with one or more of the commercial finance brokers and finance providers on our panel, so they can discuss your requirements with you. As at the date above, those are Asset Leasing and Finance, Karis Capital, OakNorth Bank, and Practice Funding Solutions.

Once a broker has your details they are a data controller in their own right and their own privacy notice governs what they do next. We do not sell your details to anybody, we do not pass them to marketing lists, and we do not share them with any party outside the panel.

Our email and workflow systems are operated on our behalf by service providers acting under contract as processors. They may not use your information for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for 24 months from the date of your enquiry, so that we can answer questions about an introduction we made and show what you consented to. After that they are deleted. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we will, unless we are required to keep something to defend a legal claim.

Where it is held

Your information is held on systems within the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area.

What you can ask us to do

  • Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete it.
  • Restrict what we do with it, or object to it.
  • Withdraw your consent to us sharing it with a broker. This does not undo a sharing that has already happened, and you would need to contact the broker separately about what they hold.
  • Receive it in a portable, machine-readable form.

Email enquiries@readscommercialfinance.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy

Tell us first and we will try to put it right: see our complaints procedure. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change it we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we share your information will be notified to anyone whose enquiry is still within the retention period above.
